Paddy Hannigan - Artist
Experimental and eclectic reflect Paddy Hannigan’s approach to his creative output whether landscape or figurative or illustration. Always working towards an abstracted style he engages work with a variety of styles using acrylic and mixed media, exploring subject matter experimentally. Land and sea- scapes which are influenced by affinity with both S.W. England and Ireland are nevertheless imaginative and intuitive creations with the objective of giving viewers a resonance of a place and time and allowing a personal response to a mood or impression.
Figurative works are often based loosely on musicians and dance reflecting personal connections with Irish and similar music but approached in a loose and colourful intensity to show the emotions and feelings that such music expresses.
Paddy Hannigan has been an exhibiting member of Artistree for many years but also has shown his work in many locations either in different groups or individually. He also writes poetry and illustrates a poetry book that is published annually at the Ledbury Poetry Festival.
